Our involvement in Qatar 2022™ went far beyond a single role. From the earliest stages of stadium design consultancy to event planning, ceremonies, overlay delivery and fan engagement, we at Arena Events+Venues were present across the full journey of a truly historic tournament. We worked closely with FIFA and the Supreme Committee to ensure every detail was strategically planned, rigorously tested and delivered to the highest international standard.

Stadium Design Review

Stadium Design Review

We supported FIFA in translating technical demands into design at early stages, helping architects and the Supreme Committee understand how to combine tournament requirements with venue legacy purpose.

Appointed by FIFA in the early stages of stadium design in Qatar, we played a crucial consultancy role for the Supreme Committee.

We addressed and anticipated key aspects and challenges throughout the process, supporting the development of all 8 stadium designs — drawing on our full experience to ensure both event success and long-term legacy.

Event Planning & Host Country Operations

Arena Events+Venues was appointed in 2018 to provide specialized consultancy supporting tournament planning and host-country operations.

Leveraging its global expert network, Arena mobilized 500+ specialists across planning, operations, logistics, technology, and delivery, supporting the Supreme Committee through the preparation and delivery of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

In 2021, we signed a new contract with the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy to support the design, planning and delivery of ceremonies for mega events hosted in Qatar. This included tournament-based ceremonies such as opening, closing, pre-match and cup ceremonies, as well as stadium inaugurations.

Overlay Delivery

Overlay Delivery

We managed to supply a highly experienced overlay team from various countries, working in a fast-track mode within an incredibly difficult environment, with cultural challenges and a high-pressure delivery schedule.

We were appointed by Mosanada/Aspire to provide specialized overlay manpower deployment services.

We mobilized a team of 50 staff, including overlay cluster and venue managers, in a record time of one month, to supervise the delivery of overlays from bump-in to bump-out across over 150 venues for FIFA Arab Cup 2021 and FIFA World Cup 2022.

Our network and reputation in delivering global sports events played a key role in the success of this project.

The team exceeded all expectations, delivering the FIFA Arab Cup 2021 in under 3 months from mobilization to event kick-off.

Fan Engagement Programme

Fan Engagement Programme

We supported SDI Marketing and SC to curate uniquely tailored end-to-end experiences for a delegation of 45 fans.

The Fan Engagement Programme aimed to engage a global network of fans to test and evaluate the fan experience during the FIFA Arab Cup 2021™. The team identified, connected with, and built relationships with fan groups around the world, understanding and anticipating their wants and needs. From the Supreme Committee's fan network of over 300, 45 fans from 30 countries were selected.

The team delivered through activations, stadium and host country experiences, ambassador content, and fan services that provided a broad understanding of the tournament, enabling fans to fully evaluate the experience and share quality insights ahead of FIFA World Cup 2022™.
